My once a week tournament win

Submitted by AlexCn on Tue, 09/23/2008 at 1:04pm.

This is a game I played at a chess club near where I live. I am in the Open section because I qualified for it after my last tournament. My opponent is rated almost 400 poisnts higher than I am. I had played my opponent once before and lost to him. I am white and my opponent played the Sicilian Defense.  IF you have any comments please post them.

Congratulations.  Nice tactic!  Great technique to cash-in the advantage.

Very nice! Although in this variation I think white plays f4 instead of f3. Still, you had a very nice tactic after 12. ... Nc4. Overall a very enjoyable game.

congrats, Alex!  great game.  I like how after you gained the advantage, you backed off and re-established position.  Excellent pawn and king advancement towards the end -- something i can definitely learn from!  Always feels great to beat someone rated higher than yourself.
