new hobby

We started doing this geocaching thing last week. It is really great fun. I like going for wanders anyway and now I can always check with my phone if there's a cache hidden somewhere near. These little treasure hunts sometimes bring you to places you've never noticed before or just areas you've never thought of going there.  Or, like on the photo, pretty places.
I must admit, I can already feel the addictive side of geocaching. Not that I feel addicted, I just see why you could get really obsessed with it, especially when you use your phone as GPS device which you almost always have with you. You could just end up checking for geocaches everywhere you go xD That would be madness. But I like knowing that I have that option, hehe.

Anyone else a fan of that?

Yes, if you find something in a cache that you like you can take it out IF you have something of equal value to put back into it.
I've known it for a couple of years too but I always thought it's some really special thing because that's what it sounded like in that docu that I saw on tv.  I read about it online again after someone said that Joscha and Ca looked for caches when we were in Buesum.
Of course it's easier with phones and things but Ian and I want to try it only with map and compass some day :)

I heared of it two or three years ago. Ecki and me found it very interesting but never tried it. I think now it's easier with an iphone or mobile phone with gps. When we heard of it, you had to use the pc and a map, as you said. Now you can do it more spontaneously.

Is it still common do change the treasure?

    It is great, yes :)
Newer mobile phones have GPS too, so maybe you can do it anyway :)
And also, you can get the coordinates from the website, put them into googlemaps or something, print a close-up and then go out with map and compass :D (maybe drive and park somewhere near hehe)
I can find 28 caches in Panama when I search for it on the website, maybe there are even more, just not mentioned with the country in the details.
