BorgBlog

I figure I should at least be able to say that "yes, I have made a blog before", so I started this blog as a bit of an experiment.

If I find people actually bother to read it, I'll extend it to include stuff that might be interesting to others.

If you would like to see something here, please post!  If you have some suggestions about blogging and why it's useful, please post!

Submitted by BorgQueen on Tue Oct 20, 2009 4:53pm.

I keep getting asked about the "custom smilies" I use here. Firstly, the reason: The smilies on chess.com are LAME!!!  Secondly, the how: They are just images I have uploaded to chess.com in the normal way.  Once uploaded you can easily acces... Read more »

Tactics Trainer

Submitted by BorgQueen on Wed Oct 7, 2009 8:15pm.

Lately, I have been reminded about the shortcomings of the tactics trainer. The two basic problems are: 1.  Alternative correct moves are treated the same as hopeless blunders. EG, you play a move that wins (like a mate in 10).  But there is ... Read more »

I miss JASC.

Submitted by BorgQueen on Wed Jun 24, 2009 5:57am.

Nothing to do with chess at all, so sorry to bore you :p I just wanted to vent my frustration with Corel.  They are pathetic.  JASC produced this awesome software called PaintShop Pro.  I bought version 7.  I love it.  Simple, fast, powerful... Read more »

Mass Resignations

Submitted by BorgQueen on Mon Jun 22, 2009 8:13pm.

I am a touch confused this morning.  I had two games going in a team match between The EU and Team Australia.  My opponent, having just cracked the 2500 mark resigned his games with me which were only just getting out of the opening book.  My o... Read more »
