I figure I should at least be able to say that "yes, I have made a blog before", so I started this blog as a bit of an experiment.
If I find people actually bother to read it, I'll extend it to include stuff that might be interesting to others.

My son, Daniel, just turned 5, has just played his first game of chess. We didn't finish it, but I am mega proud of him!

Lately, I have been reminded about the shortcomings of the tactics trainer.
The two basic problems are:
1. Alternative correct moves are treated the same as hopeless blunders.

I got a nice advantage but then whittled it away and ended up in time trouble and threw the win away to a draw.
