Interesting Lines!

Submitted by BorgQueen on Tue, 10/06/2009 at 6:45pm.

Hi all,

I recently played this OTB game.

I got a nice advantage but then whittled it away and ended up in time trouble and threw the win away to a draw.

Had some interesting lines in it, thought I'd share it.

I know I didn't play perfectly... especially towards the end, I was in some significant time trouble at that point ^^

Yes, it's an official event, counts towards ratings anyway.  It's called the "Interclub Pennant"... held in Adelaide. I was filling in for someone :)

And yes, I was quite surprised at the opening :)

Very interesting play. I enjoyed watching the strange opening by black. Was this at an official event? You recorded your moves?

Yes, he is higher rated, so I was happy with the result... and then annoyed I couldn't turn the advantage into a win

Ah... "The Pirc" is a name I now remember.  Thanks :)   I've seen it so many times, but never knew it's name.

I wish I could remember the openings so well as it seems everyone else does Tongue out

Thanks for sharing this.  Great example of turning a losing game into a draw.
