No News, Please!

No New's is good news I always say, and so do a lot of others... only they probably don't mean it in the sense that they just can't stand those N..Ne..New..New York teams. Well, I've decided to bury the hatchet... no, not there... I am going to mention, without fear of tongue epilepsy, the New York Knights are playing our beloved Boston Blitz. There, I said it. It seems that they are one game in front in the series battle (8.5 - 7.5), if you can believe the NY located USCL stats. However, for this match the Blitz have committed a serious error of omission. They submitted late lineups... Why?... Two simple words... "I forgot!", or, rather, "They" did. But, seriously, they were severely penalized as the Blitz will start each game down 22 minutes. (Knights 101 minutes to Blitz 79 minutes). Ok, so, I have no right to criticize, but when has that stopped me. HOW!! could this happen? Maybe we can hear from the executive team... the fans demand an explanation. Alright, enough over-the-top nonsense. $%^&#* happens.

This week the Blitz face another very tough match which should be closely contended. There is no love lost between these teams. In fact, I would say we can offer some real ill will... Nothing "New" here... Let's take a look.

Lineup for Weds., Sept. 19, 7pm.

       White Black
--------------------------------------------------------------------
1. GM Kacheishvili (NY) GM Perelshteyn (BOS)
2. FM Gulamali (BOS) SM Herman (NY)
3. NM Williams (NY) NM Vilenchuk (BOS)
4. NM Krasik (BOS) NM Katz (NY)

GM Giorgi Kacheishvili (NY) vs GM Eugene Perelshteyn (BOS) - Board 1

It will be nice to see Eugene back, not that Jorge was bad, no, he was very, very good. But, I could use a quieter style once in a while... Oh, I don't know... maybe 1.d4 Nf6 and a King's Indian? God, my heart can't take it. Yep! That's my prediction for a nice harrowing draw. (0.5 - 0.5)

FM Kazim Gulamali (BOS) vs SM Matt Herman (NY) - Board 2

We wait with worms in our mouth ("bait"ed breath) to see another Morra? I will have my latest purchase, Marc Esserman's Mayhem in the Morra, as I follow every move of this one. If there is a God... As I promised, I will pick Kazim every round... (1 - 0)

NM Justus Williams (NY) vs NM Michael Vilenchuk (BOS) - Board 3

I don't know what to expect here. From what I can tell, that slow stuff is right up Michael's alley. 1.Nf3 d4 maybe? (0.5 - 0.5)

NM Ilya Krasik (BOS) vs NM Alexander Katz (NY) - Board 4

This must be a barn burner, 1.e4 c5... Oh, that's right, Ilya plays 1.d4... never mind. Make that 1.d4 d5 Ilya likes theory. Besides, what's all this fuss about burning barns anyway. (1 - 0)

And there you have it. Boston (3 - 1) in a close, but not so close, large farm building going up in flames. No matter, we'll just have to build a N..Ne..New one.
