my rating is at 2125 if I play anyone with a rating under 1000 I get +0 points for a win and -70 for a loss. Lame.
I saw it happen in the NSW Women's Championship a few years ago when a little girl rated just over 1000 beat a WIM. Nobody believed it and the woman wouldn't talk about it, but she lost on time. Her position wasn't inferior, she just seemed to have lost herself in the position and forgot the clock was running. It was a great result for the kid, though.
Your own problem is easy to solve, CF. Set rating limits when you send out challenges.
Only because any player rated less than 1000 is likely to beat you about 0.1% of the time...
