My Thoughts On A Parable

Man goes to therapist and says
"I'm depressed, lost, alone,
and I feel threatened by this harsh cold world."
The therapist says treatment is easy
go see pollyachi the great clown,
he's in town,
if that doesn't work see me in the morning.
The man bursts into tears,
the therapist is confused and
the man looks up and says
"I am pollyachi".

Well first I think that its just like the world to say "oh its simple, all you have to do is..."
Second, this is one of the educated elite in society who is giving this advice, which speaks volumes. Basically saying that
"all of the knowledge and info that I've paid for and I'm charging you for is worth nothing
but dummy obviously you don't see it."

Also the guy is referred to an entertainer... Which is basically an insult; "you're problem is nothing, simply take your mind off of your problem". I would think that most people would not go and pay for a therapist for a simple problem, or a first time issue. That would be like going to the emergency room for a splinter.

Fourth the parable I believe shows how laughter and taking your mind off of a problem does not resolve the problem. Laughter and cheer, do wonders for helping to refocus us a little, to give us some more energy or motivation but in the end, laughter and cheer I have not know to resolve anything, although I highly recommend them as a step towards the resolution.

Most people do not want to think about thier problems, some people want God to miraculously take them away. I have found (maybe just for people like me) that thinking about your problem intermittently until you reach the solution or change you're mindset is the most likely way to fix things. Not that I'm ruling out God miraculously fixing the issue but, that I do not believe is the primary method.

Some may remember this parable from the movie Watchmen.
