Too Much Monkey Business

Submitted by Darrin on Sun, 04/20/2008 at 10:29am.

Playing in a zillion tournament games has given me an appreciation for the saying "too much of a good thing."  Only in my case, it hasn't been so much of a good thing.  I have watched my rating plummet as I take on far more games than I should.  Three tournaments at once are just too much-  at least for me.  Now I'm not whining, because I chose to take on all these games.  I'm just making note of my limitations here.  Besides, there are other hobbies and interests outside of Chess that I would like to maybe get back into.  Things like eating and sleeping, for example- haven't done much of either since I started playing here.

I know what you mean.. i am in the middle of two tourneys and i was up to 34 games. That game count i'm sure seems manageable to many, but with my schedule it means I'm probably not making moves in all my games everyday.

I am going to be careful the tourneys I accept from now on.. though there is something about the tourney games... I seem to take them just a tad more seriously... not to say i've played better in them.. i'm getting busted in many of them.
