a swift end

Submitted by Dutchgalego on Fri, 11/30/2007 at 12:19pm.

As Emmanuel Lasker (1868-1941) once wisely said. "Like nature the chess game has no mercy!"

No mercy also means that a chess player should and will (when noticed) take full advantage of unexpected possibilities as I did in a game with my friend Jan Roelof.

White plays a horrible 28.Qe2-f3?? which means game over. An easy and surprising (28...e4!!) develop a devastating breakthrough. From now on it's mate in 2. As example:(29.Qd1-Qe5+, 30.Kb1-Qb2++). In order to delay check mate white must to sacrifice his queen.

As example: Qc3-Rxc3 or Qxe4, but in both cases black wins the game anyway.

Please feel free to try to find a rescue move for white.
