I'm really supposed to be trying to learn NimzoIndian / BogoIndian as suggested by Alburt/Dzindzichasvili/Perelshteyn in "Chess Openings for Black, Explained" however it is hard unlearning old (possibly bad) habits.

Okay - here are a bunch of BOGO-indian games I've chosen for my game vs Tzotzolis

    Gupta vs Amin 2012

    Mikhalevski vs Wemmers 2011

El Gindy vs El Kamel 2009

    Jovanic vs Dimitrov 2009

    Nebolsina vs Cherednichenko 2009

Daeru is gonna laugh at my attempted Grunfeld in Live chess!

But I guess when your opponent plays a double fianchetto opening there isn't quite the same central tension.

I started off with the 1.d4 Nf6 and got a K-side fianchetto. Then I got ...d5 in, but all in all it wound up looking likeĀ a stonewall Dutch defense. There was no pawn on c4 until move 8.

11...Qe8 was a mouse-o. I had meant to go to e7 but clicked the wrong square.

White's f3 break was mis-timed I think. It left the g3 pawn hanging and let my queen invade.

I missed 27...Qh2# 0-1 (DUH!) and rather than grab the mate in 1 I decided that shoring up my center was more important.

Luckily I was able to get a nice tactic forking white's K + Q with 30...Ne3+ which took all the fight out of my opponent.

Here's my attempt at the Barry Attack. I have acquired Summerscale's book "A Killer Chess Opening Repertoire" which fits in with my learning 1.d4

The strategy seemed to be going okay, but a tactical opportunity arose when my opponent saw fit to put his queen in a box. So I shut the lid.

Okay - Now that I'm trying to learn out of the Kaufman repertoire book I'm going to be play 1.d4 - at least against my higher rated opponents. There are probably going to be a lot more games here. This one is a bit odd. I had a rather complicated set of exchanges in mind from move 14 but my opponent was more than obliging by blundering a rook.

One of my early King's Indian attempts

Here's a strange attempt by me to try to approach Benoni from the 1...Nf6 2...e6 move order. It didn't work. Fortunately for me, my opponent blundered a bishop early and so that made the game easy.

Again - can't seem to post the pgn so here is the link:

I think I can post the PGN from home but oddly not from work.

    Here it is.

Okay - doing a bit better now. I have obtained Kaufman Repertoire which suggests Grunfeld. This is my first attempt at it and I think I did okay - helped somewhat by my opponent letting me net his rook in the center and getting up an exchange. Can't seem to post the PGN right now but here is the link to the game and I'll hopefully do an analysis later.

Well, KID doesn't always work out so well for me. I am beginning to suspect I am playing a rather pedestrian strategy.
