So-called World Chess Hall of Fame subject of proceedings before Trademark Trial and Appeal Board

The so-called World Chess Hall of Fame and so-called World Chess Museum opened in late 2011 is now the subject of proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark  Office before the TRADEMARK TRIAL AND APPEAL BOARD.  The above so-called entities are accused of infringing on the rights of the World Chess Federation, Inc and its World Chess Federation Hall of Fame founded 1992.

The so-called infringing entities (alleged to be connected with FIDE the International Chess Federation and NOT with World Chess Federation, Inc) are charged with deceptiveness violating Trademark Act section 2 (a), False suggestion of a connection with World Chess Federation violating the same section. Fraud as per 808 F.2d 46, 1 USPQ2d 1483 Fed Cir 1986 as per Torres v Cantine Torresella S.r.l; Violating the provisions of Trademark Act and section 4; and misrepresenting the source of goods or services as per Trademark Section 14.

World Chess Federation, which sponsored the January 17 2012 Bobby Fischer Memorial in Las Vegas to remember the 4th anniversary of the death of Bobby Fischer January 17, 2008 announced it wishes for chessplayers throughout the world to remember that Bobby Fischer claimed his memorabilia was stolen, and to reflect upon whom said memorabilia ended up in the hands of. World Chess Federation believes that certain entities in possession and exhibiting memorabilia Fischer claimed was stolen from him have shown extreme disrespect to Fischer's memory while at the same time trying to profit from such display of said memorabilia.
