What does your Avatar say about the real You ?

I tend to use Spongebob Squarepants because I play chess like this character. Naive, simple, eager to please, best plans go wrong, but lives to fight another day. What about you? comments please.

Whats your mental attitude when playing Chess.

I tend to want to please by making a move immediately, even tho I've got 3,5 days or longer to play, this is because I feel its rude to keep my opponent waiting, How silly can u get ???!!! do others feel like this. I am getting better and through the help of good friends taking my time to make the best move and not drop clangers. The chess explorer has helped in this by giving various alternatives to common opening moves, have you tried it yet, well worth  the time spent.

A HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO MY READERS AND FRIENDS AND A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR WITH IMPROVING CHESS PLAY TO ALL.

SEASONS GREETINGS, from HAMISH

Tks for your comments, I think our avatars do say something about our personality. It is hard to slow down, like dozy I like meeting new people and making friends, but must try and play better.  Cool

I'm also like you.  I also feel that I have to make a move immediately so I don't keep my opponent waiting.

As for my avatar, I'm not sure what it represents.  I'll let others be the judge of that.

First things first, Hamish.  My avatar represents my sense of humour.  A bit wicked sometimes, but always meant to be in fun.

I've given up trying to play at a sensible rate.  I recently let the number of games I play dwindle to almost nothing and resolved that when I started again I would take time to think before moving.

    Hah!

I ended up in two tournaments with 33 games running and lots of speedy players on line, throwing moves at me as if we were in a snowball fight ... so that resolution went out the window.

Still, it's only two weeks till the new year.  Maybe I can make another slow resolution then.  Or maybe not.  I'd be back to my normal speed before the first full moon.

But, win or lose, I enjoy my games and I've met a lot of great people on here.

And a merry Christmas to you too...
