Seems plausible to me. If black is moving up the board, the mating move could have been the promotion of the rook pawn to a bishop. (I suspect black would do that just to show off.)

I think you,ve solved it DoctorWho. It is impossible for the bishop to get to that square without already having the king mated. Well done I think

The black bishop could not have possibly mated white's king from a8. It would make more sense if it was on b7.
