First and hopefully not last!

My first post here is somewhat timely. Tomorrow morning (or today, technically in 5 hours) I am driving from my hometown--Lansing, MI--to my new home in North Richland Hills, TX with my lovely soon-to-be fiancée and all of our belongings. Technically I've been homeless for the last year due to the Michigan economy going to sh**. Apologies for the language; but anyone who's shared the experience would likely agree with my choice of words.
Granted that all goes well, we should arrive Thursday mid-day at the in-laws house with employment lined up and support for our new lives.
Oh dear, where are my manners? Probably back with my irl personality... A little about myself:
I consider myself somewhat of a philanthropist in the sense that I do what I can to ensure the well being of whoever I feel deserves it; usually depending on one's attitude towards life. Sadly, such selflessness may be what landed me in the homeless situation in the first place. My goal in Texas is to eventually fly my friends and family down to join me in potential success and happiness.
So, here's to the good life :) Good times and bountiful optimism to come!
