Indeed, it's not uncommon for someone to have a terrible positional understanding, yet maintain a pretty high rating. Such players are simply more consistent with not blundering.

This seems more like a self-immolation by black than anything else.
also: 14. Ng3?? (g4)

That must be Polish defense, because it sure as heck isn't French. As far as the third move being book, I would suggest that you become a little more familiar with the opening.
dracoms
Funny, his third move is book.
Although it's much more commonly seen after Nd2 than Nc3. But anyway...
sheardp
Utterly pointless.

black was completely unaware of how to play not only french but chess in general. i wonder how such players gain points in rating!Â

Nice annotation too

Interesting game but your opponent created his own destruction by applying a lot of useless pawn moves. The French is largely a closed defense that can afford slow build up but moves three and four were plain bad.

Awesome game, very intresting game, love to know the reason behind darkknight580's a6 pawn push though.
skizzzzzzzz
18.- Rxf2 would be better for black.
Nice win, though black handled the French badly.
