Of course playing blindfolded builds your game... we are often making decisions on the impression of the position, which often overlooks a certain aspect (i.e. the rook on a8 etc.) therefore, the more thorough we can keep the board in our mind, the better we can make a decision.

i played a blindfold chess before against my not-so-good at chess-cousin..and on the 30th move i wasn't able to imagine the board and the piece on my mind so i resigned..even tough im winning..

Yea, you guys are real funny. I was blindfolded (duh) and someone else (12 yrs old) wrote down the notation.
