Story Starter

Submitted by Kooterbobette on Sat, 04/05/2008 at 8:55am.

If you are wanting to post on this blog here's how to do it. I am going to write a beginning paragraph for a story. Then you can continue the story by posting paragraphs of your own. For others like this go to www.thenoveltree.com

The Story ( You can submit name ideas also)

The wind wiped my hair as I ran, searching for cover, screaming for help. I dashed to the storm shelter hoping to find my sister. Once I reached the cellar I yanked on the handle. It was jammed shut. I pounded on the door screaming and yelling to see if any one was inside. No answer. I crumpled into a ball on the door. Suddenly it opened to reveal a face. It was familiar. Strangely familiar. Yet I seemed not to know it.

Now that the story is over you can still post ideas and comments about the story.

We need titles!

With his loose hand he grabbed my wrist. "Getting revenge." He whispered. He grabbed Roberta, threw me to the ground, and walked out the door. Every one was to stunned to move. As soon as Alex gathered his senses he ran out the door screaming his head off. I heard a car motor then the squelling of tires on ashvault. She was gone. I felt like crying but nothing came out.

If you like our story then read Book 2 of the trilogy. WE STILL NEED TITLES!

"I think this belongs to you," he says, shoving Roberta into my arms.

She leans against me limply, barely conscious. "What did you do to her?" I ask, stroking her head.

I pulled away from Alex for a second. "Sure." I said, and walked over and hugged him. He looked surprised, yet pleased. Then another knock. Attida stood up and got it. It was Mr. Cwornal, holding an unconscious Roberta in his arms.

"Can I come in now?" He asks Attida, his eyes pleading.

I smiled and hugged Alex tighter. The door opened. It was Pete.

That was the first time he had hugged me in years. I savored the moment, wondering how long it would last.

Attida smiled at me, "Thanks. I wouldn't have been able to do that."

I shrugged, "Pipi's controllable, you just have to know how to get under her skin."

Alex hugged me.

I walk to Roberta. "Or you Pipy." Pipy was my nickname for Roberta, the one she hated. Her glare hardened on me but Pete grabbed her by the shoulders and led her out into the hall with him. It was just Attida, Alex, and me.

Attida pushes Roberta aside, ignoring the knife, like it's just a toy Roberta wanted to show her. It's as if she read my thoughts, because she says, "Dad, I don't want you here right now. Please leave."

But did they feel that way about each other. I wanted them to. And I wanted Pete to leave. Attidas dad or not I still didn't like him.

What about Alex? There was so much fear in his eyes, this was his first time being in front of the knife and not behind it. Yet he had another emotion in his eyes, protection for Attida. As I looked at both of them I realized, this was my family.

Who should I protect? Attida? Myself?

Both could do harm, there was no doubt about that. But which one should I worry about?

Great. Two knivies. Just Great. One knife bearer an incredibly talented 40 year old man. The other a clumsy 8 year old. But yet...

"NO! Alex lunged, his arms trying to protect Attida.

"Son, let the little girl do her work," Pete says, pointing a knife at Alex.

She was interuppted by Roberta, who stepped forward, holding the knife. She walked to Attida. "I'm sorry." she whispered, and lunged.

 Man I hate that knife.

Attida laughs, "Oh you want a hug too?" That's exactly what she gives both of us.

"Attida, why?" Alex's choked voice says, hurt.

Attida's warm smile turns cold in her eyes when she looks at Alex. "
