Holidays and chess

Submitted by Logicalfan10 on Sat, 09/29/2007 at 1:28am.

When you have a holiday it is great to learn and practice some chess. As a school student in Australia, I have holidays at this time of the year. It is amazing how much chess you can learn in one day! I played 2 games of chess and about to play my third.(Unfortunately lost them both so far) And learned the Blackburne Gambit, which is checkmate. I also learned the first 6 moves of the Sicilian Defense. Thanks to Chessmaster 10th edition. I just like to encourage people who are interested in chess to learn when thy have time. Holidays and chess work together.(Unless you play chess internationally)

Good thoughts. It's also possible to find time by eliminating some other time-wasters such as by not watching some mediocre, forgettable TV show. Or by carrying around with you a chess book, especially a puzzle book, that you can read anytime your forced to wait.
