This is a game I played a few months ago and I think it stands as an example of how the outcome of an amateur chess game can never be certain.
50.Qe5+ Qxe5 51.Nxe5 - "Indeed, this should be a winning endgame for white even with black's slightly more active king."
White played a key role in making his king even less active. 59.Kh4?!--how does this help White?? He needs to get to the d-file to penetrate. if he had played 59.Kg3 instead and the rest of the game went exactly the same way, White would have drawn or maybe won.
61.Nc8! - Yep, clean and simple.
Thanks for the posting...
What the hell did white do in the endgame, after such a nice game?
Anyways nice game.

Welcome to my blog! In the USCF I am rated 1729, though this rating is becoming more and more out of date as there are no close tournaments.
The content posted here is from my real chess experience, either games I've played or observed. I'll try to put an instructive twist on it. So if you're looking for a glimpse into how a B player thinks about the game, check in and see what I've got. I'll try to keep up with 2 posts a week.
