Hi and welcome to my blog post. Some of you think stalemate is GOOD, some BAD. Well, the answer is BOTH. Stalemate can happen to anybody. But what I am going to tell you is when it is good and when it is bad. Say you are winning, and you get into a stalemate. That is bad. Why? It's because you are winning but you end the game in a draw. But when you are losing, it's best to try to get in a stalemate. Why? It's because you are losing and you end the game in a draw. The diagram on the left shows a example of a stalemate. White is the lucky one because he is losing and the game ended in a stalemate but black not so much, because he is winning but he made a terrible mistake of letting the advantage turn into a stalemate.
