ive been using the GE to help with my openings and to check out differant openings thats how ive been using the program it helps some but there is no analisys to why a certain move is better or whatever so you have to do your own study of the games and such

The Game Explorer (GE) is populated with master games from a large database of over 2 million chess games. As you select an opening move, the GE will tell you all the possible next moves that have been played, with win, loss, draw percentages and the number of games with that opening sequence. One would most likely pick the more commonly played opening, unless you are like me, and play unorthodox and rare openings (but you better know what you are doing). The rarer moves tend to be weaker and more likely lead to poor development and perhaps a trap that leads to a lost game. Best to stick with the more popular lines. GE also gives the opening name and variation. You can also view the entire game or games of any variation and play the games out. Another feature is to select your own games (or any other player at chess.com) instead of the master games to see the statistics of your openings on your games played here at chess.com. You can select either White or Black to see how you are doing percentage wise for win, draws, and losses for any opening.
