Chess RPG Comeback - Part 1

A few months ago I read something in the forums about a chess RPG, and what it would be like. I want to bring back this topic, as well as share my ideas with you.
Please note: Some ideas may be familiar to other RPG's 'plots' out there. I'm sorry if this offends any game makers.
Also note: This is Part 1! There will be another bit so I'm not finished yet!!
Ok, firstly, all RPG's need money, and since the pawn is the smallest piece in a chess set, the pawn can be the currency. 1,000 pawns are equal to 1 king.
Everyone is divided up into to two teams, I was thinking bishops and knights, but I'll let the community decide that. When you start, you have basic 'armour' no visual hints on your chessboard, (similar to Chessmaster Coach) and that's where you're adventure begins.
Quests involve solving puzzles, not just 1, but a whole series of them, to make the quest reward rewards more rewarding (eg. 1,000 XP or pawns).
The higher your level, the better your skills are:
Disaster Tracker: Visual hints on the board like safe squares, bad squares etc.
Looks: For pawns you can customize the look of your chessboard and character.
Masters: The higher your master level is, the better the help you recieve in a game.
Item bag: Like any other RPG, certain items are unlocked after a certain period of time. Examples could be the Time Freezer, Master Help, etc.
Next week I'll tell you about my ideas for the PvP side of things...
Remember: these are just ideas, you can add to them if you want, I do like feedback
If it's too hard to understand I'll try and rephrase things next week.
Cheers!!
