Tales of the Rookie

For the good of our boys I am again into chess, perhaps the 5th or 6th revolution in this wonderful game. I am actually better than I thought I was but that is still quite, quite bad. Looking forward to alot of games.

I have decided to turn chess into a martial arts program for my mind. The 64 squares will be my dojo, and I hope to have many many masters. Sparing will be essential to becoming good at this game.

    • Getting beat by DAD

Its just the classic frustration, getting pummeled by your father in hess. What could be more cliche. I will post the game when it is finished but 'placetas' is beating me to a pulp.  Learned? Never move your queen then forget about her- hmm I ... | Read More

    • Frustration

I am starting to believe that chess is no quick fix. I find that I lack chess vision and despite my efforts I seem to not be improving. I still let go of pieces and don't see that sudden knight assault my queen. I wonder if this game is for me at ... | Read More

    • The Immortal Game

Something I am working on, in answering why chess in the forums: I am still trying to figure it out. I can say that it appears to be man's ultimate riddle. It is a game that draws and something speaks to me in side that says, "Keep playing, you w... | Read More

    • Chess Critical Mass

A while ago I heard that you cannot have more than one chess coach/teacher at a time. The tactics and advice tends to pile or hinder on the others. I wonder if that is what is going on. I have bought chess books, and played turn-based, found chess... | Read More

Did it Again? Or would it be did NOT do it again? Lost another to a rather stronger player. I wonder if that is the problem? But I know you have to learn to lose before you can win, so I am patient. I got Chessmaster 11th (wow it IS like 10) and a... | Read More
