Titus the gorilla is dead

for those of you who know from my avatar that i support and encourage the saving of these magnificent animals. They are the most gentle giants who use their enormous power only to defend their family group.

Titus was a young male around the time of diane fossey. Against all the odds, after being orphaned at the age of 5, he went on to become the most prolific sire of offspring ever recorded. His dna has been traced through many generations and branches of his family tree. He lead the largest group ever recorded and generated enough interest around the world to ensure the saving of the mountain gorilla from extinction. Their numbers are still in perilous trouble so need all the support we can give them.

These magnificent creatures must never be allowed to become extinct.

     They have Silverback Gorillas at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida.  One of the
best days at a theme park I can remember.
