a little amazing game. (is this some kind of trap??)

Submitted by PeterArt on Thu, 09/24/2009 at 2:06pm.

Today i played a lot Caro Kann, but lost most of them.
So then i decided to play something completely different, i played intuitive, like i normally never would. Its a surprising game, it looks like some kind of trap.
Well let me show it here. If you now the name of the trap let me know

Lack of development on Black's part. Advancing a pawn at least would've spared him some time. Black could've attempted to ward off the attackers.I believe Black could've played better.

However, I like the nice checkmate. It is pretty cool when a major piece is attacked and in spite one ends the game on next move. Mate. Good job!

It's interesting before I read this I played a solotaire game just thinking of ways to pull the king off the 8th rank. I opened with e4 and attempted to try a Sicilian defense. Of course I only played a single line of my own. But I ended with a Bishop-Queen-Rook check mate after losing a majority of my pawns. There was a knight sacrifice to open black's kingside and force him to double pawn on the f-file. I wish I would've recorded it only so that others could give opinions on what they would do on each move for Black at various points.

Well i wouldn't start with h6 either, unless i had realy early plans to castle there.
while playing on the other side an owen defense.

The problem with 1...h6 is Black might not want to play it later (e.g. h5 to start a Kingside attack) and Ng5 or Bg5 are not really threatening moves if the sacrifices are dealt with.

some feedback from me

> Lol indeed a comical aspect, its like black didn't move its main peaces :)

> Playing h6 isn't really wrong its defensive development, limmits Ng5
which i might play in some sort of combined corner attack.

> This isn't poor play, to sacrify and surprise is part of chess strategics.
And early sacrifies are also played to get out of popular opening lines.
Sacrificing twice is just rare, it doesn't happen that often.
Although it happens in traps (that's why i think its some kind of trap).
An opponent unable to castle is in a worse position.
The first one was also needed for this attack, to create that pawn opening.
The second was was required because of his defense and my initiative play.

Interestingly, Black didn't make any severe mistakes until around the tenth move, though his position would have been defensible up until the final move.

9.Qh5+ was probably a good Z.Z. .forces Kd7, and then BXb5+

i have no idea why 1....h6 was palyed...after all, black is rated 1300+

7.Bc4+ and Be6 is black plays Ke8.The bishop jumps in black's throat and creates strong mating possibilities(Qh5+and mates, or Qf3, threatening mate.)

lol, but very poorly played on both sides.  Sacrificing a piece when there is no clear attack or just to stop castling?

There's a rather comical feature you didn't mention.  When the game was over all black's pieces were back on their original squares.  Smile
