What is 'chess' in Filipino?

hi,

anyone could give me a satisfactory answer about my question of what is the Filipino word for 'chess'?

hope this quest or inquiry of mine will be given an answer, anyone who reply will be greatly appreciated and more thanks.

i think its 'chis' as how everbody pronouced it... lol

I believe there's no direct translation.  The Spaniards introduced chess to us, and chess in Spanish is "ajedrez".  And so, I suppose the Filipinos first called chess "ajedrez" or the Filipinized version "ahedres".
