Today was D-Day and I didn't see anything anywhere on site about it, I am surprised about this.
yeah is funny
I was laughing at your remark about my density. Perhaps I was laughing at G-Money; he's one funny dude.
ha what, this isn't a social network forum, I got a reputation to keep. HA
Ha!
I have noticed G to be rather dense at times
Apparently, more clear than I've been.
How clear do you have to be?
Sorry for my lack of clarity.
Ah, sorry. I misinterpreted your closing sentence as a continuation of its recognition throughout the world, not limited to this site. Unless Obama plays online chess...

I never thought of him as someone who makes multiple accounts... I wonder how chess.com will go about handling this issue?
"Please don't fight now..."
I'm not a fighter; I'm a lover :-D
Please don't fight now, my head still hurts, your both right in your own ways, thank you to each of you
"batgirl, I think he was talking about there being nothing on chess.com about it"
I know, G-Money7, which is why I noted that it's mentioned in the papers and why I offered a possible reason it's not mentioned here.
Thanks G, the thing is that there are a lot of members on the site from each country invovled. This is what intriged me into there not being much mentioned about it
batgirl, I think he was talking about there being nothing on chess.com about it. I suppose that's only fair, since chess.com is an international site and D-Day only involved a few countries. It's indirectly related to most countries, but not all.
swak, D-Day was Operation Neptune - the Allied invasion of mainland Europe at Normandy, France 65 years ago - the largest amphibious attack in history - ultimately leading to the fall of the Nazi Regime eleven months later (VE-Day, Victory in Europe Day). The meaning of the "D" in D-Day is kind of vague, but the term itself just means the day when a coordinated invasion occurs.
RedSozpawn, actually it was very much in the news, particulary since Pres. Obama gave a moving speech on June 6th at Omaha Beach where the Allies, particularly the USA, had suffered extensive casualties. I guess there are just too few WWII veterns around to remind us of their terrible sacrifices.
What are d-days?
