it means that the site goes down to do some kind of repairs or add stuff and they can't do it when every player is on so they close down the site. So they can actually do it.

YOUR ADVICE IS ALL WELL AND GOOD only, after trying just about everything, I can't find t he sites or the files to wh ich u r telling me to go.Maybe for us uninitiated you could back it up one more notch and let us in on the little secret of whre these "go to" places exist. By the way, someone commented that all a person does  isjumptin and ask for help--- I spent 2 days, called EMbarq, ended up deleting most of my important e-mail info---and a big Howdi-do toyou too,whooever it was who made that little  "helpless" observation.

My guess is site backup or maintainance. With maintainance, sometimes new or modified pages are put up. But that's just my guess. Back when I maintained websites, that was my reason(s) for being temporarly down.

What i mean is, what is happens when the little yellow bar comes up and says that Chess.com will be going off in 9 minutes and will be offline for approximately 5 minutes, so my question is what happens during the time that this site offline
