6.Be3 in the Najdorf (by strangequark)

First, 6. Be3 has become very popular at top level play nowadays. It's white's sharpest line, and is the English Attack. The bishop from e3 strikes into black's few weak squares, such as b6.

The great modern players who fight against the Najdorf as white are Vishy, Peter Leko, and Alexey Shirov. Here's a good and fairly recent game:

 


Notice how the English Attack gives a structure similar to the Yugoslav Attack (employed vs. the Dragon), with pawns on f3, g4, later h4, and often 0-0-0.

I wouldlike to know why the white didnt play outsite the Night in the 9.Nf5

, and why he didnt take the black Night in 9th move with the pawn g5
