I am an active live chess player for 1 year and 8 months, I come to live chess for 4 hours every night.. Playing and learning chess is my ultimate priority and my game history will show how many games I played. I don’t usually chat in the main room unless someone will say hi and hello to me or if I’m in the mood to chat but it only lasted for 10 minutes.
This is the first time I write my blog and its not chess related. I would like to share my bad experienced and disappointment in live chess. A year ago, I was joking with my Filipino friend in the chatroom a guy from Colombia probably irritated and he called me bitch and said ‘’you Filipinos pay the membership fee’’ followed by another insult using his own language with the word ‘’ puta’’ with the presence of mod or a moderator. Another incident, a guy from USA said ‘’ Asian women are good in hook ups’’, I was the only asian woman speaking that night in the chatroom and I find it direct attack and insult and again it was said infront of the moderator. I was surprised when I replied, the moderator advised to bring the topic to private chat because they knew it will lead to a heated argument and disrupt the chatroom. Why advising to bring it to private chat instead of deleting the post? What will happen to me if I brought the topic in unmoderated private chat? Last night, I was having fun with my friends and a guy from Canada said, Sonia suck good something like that and it was with the presence of a moderator. I did not reply to the post because I am waiting for the post to be deleted but it was not. These are just few of the insults I’ve got not including the text abuse coming from my opponents. If this is happening infront of the moderator who will protect the live chess players?
Spams, religious, political topics were deleted instantly and easily why not direct attack and insults? How do they determine and qualify if its direct attack and insult? when is the right time a moderator will decide if the post should be deleted?
I am expecting a block, report abuse and disabling the chat recommendation about my blog but let’s focus to the issue in the main chatroom about post deletion. Live chess players are warned by the moderator about the consequences of violating the TOS or Terms of Service. Do they really know what is a TOS all about and when is the right time to enforce the consequences of violation?
