Llorando
sung by Rebekah Del Rio
Thank you for the comments Amnesiac and the wonderful links . I am still quite new to David Lynch's films but have heard of them. Mulholland Drive was my first such viewing, a first and unforgettable experience. Now I know that if I can't grasp his complex storyline, I know who to ask..
Brilliant! One of my all time favourite films. Did you realize that she is'nt actually singing in the film. She mimes her own performance recorded at an earlier time. That is what the whole scene is about, the illusion, you hear the sound but there is no singing. A very impressive mime though, you would think that it is easy to mime yourself but it is still quite difficult.
Lynch is the master of creating brilliantly haunting song sequences. Others include:
Blue Velvet- Dean Stockwell miming In Dreams by Roy Orbison-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CSoWg3nBeU&feature=related
Twin peaks- many scenes, particually Nightingale but I couldn't find it on youtube so-

I am David Lynch's biggest fan so if you have any questions about anything to do with his work (including songs etc) don't hesitate to ask.
I don't understand the words of the song, Goran, but I like that beat!
Thank u on nice comments, it would be nicer if the music from the end go along with the song all the time, something from me:
Ah thank you. I'm obsessed by it . The performance is featured in the movie "Mulholland Drive" directed by David Lynch. As is typical of his work, a dark, surreal, disturbing film that speaks on many levels.
I could not sleep last night and browsing through YouTube's spanish songs, I discovered this song by Rebekah Del Rio. The soaring vocals and aching song sung a capella have been described as one of the most heart-wrenching musical performances in a film.
Sometimes in life, we come across something that leaves a powerful, profound impression on us. In my life, this performance is one of those things.

I don't know how to place the lyrics in English in the empty space below Senora del Rio's picture, so here it is:
I was all right for a while I could smile for a while But I saw you last night You held my hand so tight As you stopped to say, "Hello" Oh, you wished me well You couldn't tell That I'd been crying over you Crying over you When you said, "So long" Left me standing all alone Alone and crying, crying Crying, crying It's hard to understand But the touch of your hand Can start me crying I thought that I was over you But it's true, so true I love you even more Than I did before But, darling, what can I do? For you don't love me And I'll always be crying over you Crying over you Yes, now you're gone And, from this moment on I'll be crying, crying Crying, crying Yes, crying, crying Over you
