The Grind

Submitted by TheGrobe on Sat, 01/12/2008 at 12:29am.

Attached is a game I just completed on chess.com.  In this game, a seemingly small material advantage turns into the deciding factor as we proceed to the end-game.  I thought I would share this game as an example of the importance of picking up peices as seemingly inconsequential as hanging pawns, and of the pitfalls of positional weaknesses such as doubled and isolated pawns.  I'm sure that there are many places that I could have played more efficiently or expediently, but I think that the intent of this post is well illustrated by this game.

When 24 ... Qf5 you could do better Rg7 and if Kf6... then Rf7
