Free exchange of ideas

Whats wrong with the free and open exchange of ideas? Including politics and religion? Our movie screens are filled with filth.Our tvs are basically garbage cans for the mind. The "music" (if you can call it that) that is out there is so degrading to women and children that it makes me sick to my stomache.I could go on and on with the moral degeneration of society, but lets not speak of religion for fear we might offend someone.  I  just dont get it.I am definitely not afraid of a disscussion on politics or religion. What do you think?

    I think that the average person is so consumed with the daily fear of survival, that the idea of thinking outside the box beckons on nightmares. Personally, I believe that the only way to get out of those tight situations, is to explore the realms of your mind/body/soul in an attempt to better understand yourself, and then, the circumstance through which you are subject too.

     If it ain't broke don't fix it, but how could you ever really tell if it was working in the first place?
