Chess.com GM Challenge - Round 2

Whew. I'm so glad this posted - I tried it and my browser locked up, but I was luckily able to copy everything. This is my analysis, aided by everyone in the chat and some extra time committed afterwords, of Pruess-Atalik from round 2 of the Chess.com GM Challenge. I may put analysis of other games up tomorrow, but for now I've gotta get some rest.

great stuff WW! I'm glad you were able to do this. I had problems myself last night posting the article. thankfully it went up but not after my blood pressure went up too. Great job!  Cool

Wandering, thanks so much for sharing this analysis.

The reason i rejected 10.e5 was the line you give Bf4+ Qf4 d5 locking the center. The B on e6 will make black pretty solid.

the reason i did not play 11.Kb1 was hxg3 Bxg3 Qf6 now this is awkward for the white queen. and then Qd3 Nge7 stopping Nd5, and i did not like it. also rg8 and white's bishop on g3 will be loose.

your 14.Kb1 line is pretty interesting. also 14.Nb5 Kd8 15.Kb1 should be interesting.

16.Bb5+ i thought is refuted by black moving the king instead of blocking with the bishop and the threat of Nxd5 just ruins white's attempts at building an attack.

the line you give with 16.g5 up through 19.Kb1 Bd7 is probably the best I had.

after that it was over for me.

just some of my thoughts. thanks again for sharing!
