I have helped a couple people in improving their games with some advice I have given. However, with the people I have helped over a period of time, playing against them, pointing out better moves and techniques they can start to use, comes a point where the student surpasses teacher.

Ahem, now I don't think this has happened quite yet.  However, I find their skills to be good enough to show a promising turning point in their chess.
