Not that my opponent was a beginner by any stretch of the imagination. Rather, he got too caught up in the romantic spirit of the Knights.

    29... Ke8 leads to 30. Re1+ (as before) Ne5 31. Bb5+ Ke7 32. Qc6! after which mate follows shortly. Interestingly, after 29... Ke8, if it were still Black to move, he would have mate in six(!) as below:
