The Hopeful Beginning of a Habit

As part of my chess improvement goals, I've decided to try to analyze my games in a deep and thoughtful way, something I've struggle to do ever since I started playing the game.  From what little I know about myself, I've learned that if I can be held accountable to others, I'm far more likely to get stuff done.  So I'm going to start posting my analyzed games on here to help boost my motivation as well as get your comments so I can work on my analysis and evaluation skills.  Please do post any comment or criticisms that you have.

The game below is a recently completed one that had with a long-time friend here on chess.com.  It was a well-fought and interesting one and has become one of my favorites from the twenty or so games we've played together.

What I will say Themiya, is that this analysis is extremely interesting for me! This was a very well played game by Wolfstriker (as they always are), and I think the analysis further justifies both your understanding of the game and your desire to improve. I do hope to be able to offer you some losses to analyse at some point!

Yes, I definitely will.  This game just happened to be the one I had just finished when I sat down to start analyzing, so it was fresh in my mind.  Analyzing my losses will definitely be a priority though. Thank you for your comment.

Nice game WolfStriker1. I will give you some advice though, since you wish to improve and wanted comments (not saying I am in any position to give you advice, but just saying). I noticed that you said that this is one of your favorite games and I also noted that you ended up winning it. I feel that your time could be better spent analyzing those games you wish you had never played first because those games contain the key to improvement. The games you dislike and the games you lost are the games you probably made the most mistakes on and fixing your mistakes is how you are going to improve your game. Smile
