Western Kentucky Open Game 1

Submitted by WolfStriker1 on Thu, 04/02/2009 at 6:54am.

So after six or so years of absence, I finally played in an OTB tourney.  The Western Kentucky Open was a small (roughly 30 people) compared to the large scholastic tournies I was used to.  For awhile, I really felt like a fish out of water, but I slowly settled back into pace of OTB. Anyway, here's the first game I played of the tourney:

Not too terribly proud of this game, but I was happy with the fact that I remembered the key moves of the Sicilian and that I was giving a 1600 player a run for his money for a time.  I'll be posting the second game of the tourney here soon, which had a more pleasant result.  Please, if you have any comments or critisms, post them.

yeah you played the lines correctly at the beginning against the sicillian, but once again you used the A rook instead of the F lol...you could have done on move 24 you could have done Rf-e1 to try and trick him to move f6 setting his pawns awkward and bishop being limited to movement...
