Just because I myself like to play the King's Indian more now:-) You will be able to see material on this line in my new book "Beating the Anti-King's Indians" which will be out in summer next year. It will have two parts - theory for King's Indian players and for Gruenfeld players:-)

Sweet! May I ask why you don't play the Pseudo-Gruenfeld (1.c4 Nf6 2.Nc3 d5)? I'm curious because you're a Gruenfeld expert and yet I can only find one game where you played that line, the one where you drew Natalia Zhukova.

Hey,

Naturally you can play any opening at any level:-) It is also possible to play such an opening if you have less than 1800 level just maybe you wont understand all the ideas & details. But it is definately possible to play and study it! It may help you to improve as well!

Hey, pretty good review!  That's great. Cool

Yelena, can you comment briefly on the suitability of the Grunfeld for players below 1800 Elo?  Is it too much to ask to play such a theory-dense opening, or is it true (as the maxim goes) that any opening is playable below master level? Smile
