I very much like the color scheme - the wooden/earthen tones are both warm and professional at once.

I suspect you could spice up your header though - I wouldn't have YELENA DEMBO all in caps like that - Yelena Dembo with a nice font would be much better.

Moreover, you don't need to tell us that this is your "place on the web" - anyone who arrives there will suspect as much. Better yet would be to use the right and left sides of the header to include some kind of picture or graphic.
