here are three things that i did having same focus on you are into with now: 1)have opponents here with same rating as u have now then as u progress to higher level; 2) don't ignore reviewing ur moves notes every after game; and, 3)be always in the paradox of playing chess...it's really your SELF who is your actual opponent!

Try the 3rd thing first then...i promise to you, 1 & 2 things would be a lot easier! gud luck buddy! 

Yes   1.)practice screw up lose and learn from it 2.) STUDY! books dvd's whatever but learn better ways to play......

with advice on how too ?  or by losing a game to you ?
