I have the goal of reaching 1800+ USCF in the next year. But, my wins againstĀ 1800+ have been infrequent. The latest was just over one year ago.
I jumped over the 1800 barrier in May at the Washington Open. This game was one of two wins, revealing that luck plays a major role in chess. My speculative pawn sacrifice was unsound and left me in an untenable position. Only defensive errors on the part of my opponent kept me in the game.
Move 29-32 were very interesting to me... how did this game end?
