"How To" See Chess.com Home Page with Your Theme

Submitted by NM Zug on Fri, 04/18/2008 at 10:14am.

Most of you know that when you go to the Chess.com home page, your theme goes away.  However, if you want your default location to be the home page of Chess.com and NOT your member home page, but STILL want to use your theme, here is how to do it:

On the address line of your browser, type:

http://www.chess.com/?ref_id=XXXX

where XXXX is your username on Chess.com.  For example, if your username is DOOKUS, you would type:

http://www.chess.com/?ref_id=DOOKUS

After you get to the home page, you will see it with your theme!  At this point you will want to save it to your favorites.

On the other hand, after you have gone to some other page on the site and then want to go back to the home page, say by clicking on the Chess.com logo in the upper left corner, that won't work.  You'll have to use your link you created in your Favorites to continue using your theme on the Chess.com home page.

Hope you all find this useful!
