Poisoned Knight?

Hello, in this game I played against a friend on mine, I had White, and tried the Smith-Morra Gambit against the Sicilian. My opponent hung a Knight, I assumed it was by accident, but it was on purpose, and when it took it I got mated in two. This loss for me also got my friend into the 1800s for the first time.
