I'm bored so I figured I'd make my first blog post by posting one of my tournament games from a couple of years ago - it's one of my favorites! There are variations in addition to the main moves of the game.

Wow, I'm impressed by how efficiently you crack open the King side of this solid French opening with all of your powers! I have to watch out when use my favarite French defense.

Oh sorry, I hadn't looked at the move list yet :( And I often tell people in my blog not to forget to check the move list for variations!
I don't play the Winawer myself, but I've seen such Bxg6 fxg6 games before, where black's defense was usually quite solid. Here you could immediately follow up with h4-h5-h6 so those positions I saw must have been in other variations :)

I had a few variations on here, I just didn't realize that you have to click to have the move list show up!
Phobetor: If you look up the line in Chessbase, 8. Bd3 is more popular than 8. Nf3 since it can transpose to the same position with 9. Nf3, but also leaves the White's pieces slightly better coordinated after 8...f5 9.exf6 Rxf6 10. Bg5 than in the case of 8.Nf3. Instead of 9...Ng6, which just gives gives White another target on the kingside. Black still needs to play 9...f5 and achieve the typical setup. Black is really in trouble after c4, where his counterplay is limited and White has concrete attacking plans.
