My introduction to chess.com

Submitted by alma_eterna on Mon, 10/01/2007 at 10:25pm.

I'm not very good at chess but that is mostly because I've never had anyone to play against. This has changed since I found this website so I hope that I'll get better. It's kind of frusterating, I used to think that I was alright at chess(not really good, but not bad either) but I have lost almost every game that I've played so far.

I know how u feel, for years I just played family members, (did enjoy beating the grankids, at chess, not physically.) This is a good site, with nice people who enjoy the game and you will improve, although my rating is up & down like a yoyo, I think I make them work for there win.  Wink

I would like to say to you that this game is like everything else in the world: the more you do it, the more you learn. And besides meeting interesting people makes it more fun to learn. Also checking how your rating improves as times passes through a given period of time gives you an interesting motivation in setting your own goals. Finally, there is a BIG JOY when you do win a match and they keep coming!........................:) Please don't stop winning after your 50 first games!

Hang in there, every time you loose a game you learn some moves  and some strategies, at the end of the day you'll become a better player for it
