WHEN ??

When do thyself realize thyself is not getting any better at this game? Or is it just a stage? Or is all the worlds a stage? Is being at any rating precurser to greatness or is it really your peak?

I had a look at the two games we played together and both times you chose openings that brought your queen onto the board on the second move (Scandinavian and Scotch Openings).  That can be devastating against inexperienced players, but anybody who has been around the board a few times will just use the queen for a target and your development gets further and further behind.

I don't know about your other games, but if that's the pattern then that's what's holding you back. Smile

Angelor, I'm guessing by your use of English that you're either a youngster or not a native speaker.  Either of which is OK.  I mean no offense.  If, however, you are a youngster then you are no where near your peak and you shouldn't even think in those terms.

Chess is like most other pursuits.  There are peaks, valleys, and plateaus.  You will get better for a while and then level out on a plateau for what may seem like a long time.  If you stay at it eventually you'll push on to a higher plateau.  There are also times when your chess will go right into the shi##$%.  This is inevitable, and the only thing you can do is keep at it or give up.  If you keep at it eventually you'll climb out of the valley and start back up the slope.

Good luck.
