The preliminary tournament of St Petersburg 1914 brought with it many great games, such as this one: (http://blog.chess.com/benws/double-bishop-strike), but the one that beat it out for the first brilliancy prize was this nice tactics battle by Capablanca. Was the jury correct in its decision? You be the judge.
queens gambit, sacrifices and brilliant attacks seem to tire Capablanca's opponent
this game is just another example showing capa's mastery of game play!
I really like the way all the pieces keep pushing the king and while no piece is sacred, every piece is used in pressing the attack. There's a lot of insingt in this game. Especially for 1914.
Nothing short from amazing..! Awesome game! Way to go Capa!
cool! Am a newbie to the chess tactics world and it is inspiring to see such a brilliant attack.
oh my gosh a good attack
Both are brilliant but Capa capped it!
