Caro Kann: Exchange Variation: Repertoire Preparation
Here is the brief history of Caro Kann Exchange variation. There was a famous game between Maroczy and Capablanca in 1926, in which Black won. It cast a huge shadow over the entire variation, and no one played it until 1970. Then, one day, Bobby Fisher unleased his novelty on Tigran Petrosian, and beat Petrosian convincingly, thereby, resurrecting the line. Since then, Black players have tried other methods to equalize, and right now, there are 2 main tries.
