Anderssen's Unlucky Muzio Experiences

Adolf Anderssen was a tactical genius, some say better than even Morphy. At his best, Anderssen was unparalleled, but he tended to be somewhat inconsistant (unlike Morphy).

Johannes Zukertort was accepted at the University of Breslau in 1861. There he met Adolf Anderssen and as a result became obsessed with chess.  Between 1864 and 1866, Zukertort played Anderssen around 50 known casual games, winning well over half, probably close to two-thirds, of them.  Since we don't know the circumstances, it's hard to draw any definite conclusions, but it's safe to say that after only a few years, Zukertort was already a powerful chess force.
